6 Good Things That Happened In 2016

Happy New Year! This is my last post for 2016, and my first of many for 2017. I intended to upload this much sooner, but I was distracted with planning blog posts and editing pictures and I realised that it was after midnight. So, now I have to edit this post so that it is more accurate. However, more than half the world is still in 2016, so I'm just going to be a bit flexible.

I sincerely hope that this year turns out to be much better. I've got a part-time job secured for when the school year starts, and I've got new goals that I hope to achieve this year. I also have my fingers crossed that I'll start studying something more useful.

With this post, I wanted to finish off 2016 by talking a bit about the good things. After the events of the past few days, morale is pretty low in this household and I wanted to remind myself of the positive things that have happened to me, and I would love to share them all with you.

Japan
After Nemo passed away, we had a week or so left till we had to go to Japan for our trip. My heart wasn't in it but I forced myself to not think about Nemo as I tried to enjoy the trip. I did manage to do that, luckily, and I had a good time there, especially when I visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and tried out the local vegetarian/vegan joints. I, of course, want to go back again. It was the break I needed from all the stresses of real life, and I relaxed quite a bit at the time. However, I did come home to a sick Phoebe which would soon result in a huge dent in our finances, but let's not focus on that...

Jasper
My sister-in-law gave birth to my wee nephew, and he is the cutest nephew in the world. I may be biased, but I don't care! He's my widdle Mister J! I've been clucky ever since, and I look forward to each time I can see this little cutie, breathe in his life essence and give him all the cuddles I want. It is because of Jasper that I've established a better relationship with my brother and his wife.

Cat
I've made a handful of new friendships this past year, but having Cathy in my life has been awesome. She's funny, fun to talk with, insightful, full of personality and such a wonderful person through and through. At first, we only spoke about blogging until we realised that we had so much in common, and then it spiralled from there. I hate going a day without talking to Kitty, she makes life so much more colourful and easier to tolerate. And to think we met on Twitter simply because of a grey eyelash!

TV
Some of the shows this year have had such amazing seasons, and my favourites were the second half of Game of Thrones Season 6, as well as The Big Bang Theory Season 10 (their best season in a few year), Daredevil and Agent Carter Season 2. I also started watching some shows I'd never watched before, including Stranger Things, Please Like Me, Luke Cage and Gilmore Girls, and they were all great (except for the GG revival). I'm super excited about A Series of Unfortunate Events that's to come out in a couple of weeks.

Learning
I don't mean learning as in studying a subject, but rather, learning from my lessons and from my mistakes that I've made. A lot of that has to do with my blog; how to look for engagement rather than numbers, how to be more organised (I still need to work on this some more), how to write CSS and HTML codes and implement them and how to edit my photos to make them bright and airy. My photoshop skills have also had a lot of improvement, as well as my photography.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
This turned out to be one of the best movies in the Harry Potter series, or rather, in the Wizarding World series. The plot was a little simple, but aside from that, it was amazing. The characters and their development, Ezra Miller, the jokes, the creatures (the Niffler!), the acting, Ezra Miller, the plot twist at the end, the CGI and did I mention, Ezra Miller?! How that guy manages to pull off a bowl haircut and still look gorgeous, I'll never know.

Teach me, sempai!

I want to take a moment to thank everyone for reading my blog, and being there for me. I really, truly appreciate all of your comments and all of your support. I would not have gotten this far with the blog without you guys, so I thank you. I wish you a wonderful new year and hope that you achieve all of your goals and dreams this year.

What are some of the best things that have happened to you this year?
