A few months ago I posted a wishlist containing a number of products that I would love to get. Since then I've made a few alterations, as well as omitted a couple of things. For example, I removed the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Eye Shadow Palette for obvious reasons (in case you've been living under a rock and haven't been keeping up to date on my blog, here's the post on the palette).
After reviewing my previous wishlist, I decided I didn't really need or seriously want the Hourglass powders, as my theBalm Mary-Lou (and even Milani's Foundation in Body Glow) does an amazing job at highlighting all the high points of my face. I also took out the Too Faced Love Flush Blushes, because it's not a need or a want, just something that is really super pretty to look at. I want to focus on things that I would really like to use and wear, rather stuff that I'm obsessed with just because the packaging is adorable. I'm strapped for space, so I've gotta be rational here, ladies and gentlemen. I got rid of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance because I bought it once and found that it was actually not that great at stopping the eye shadows from going into the crease. I had to return it because I couldn't justify keeping it if it was just going to disappoint me.
My first item is something that I think I will always want and will be what I get first when I have the extra dosh. I discovered this brand through a friend, and I was immensely impressed by the retro and vintage concept. I was furthermore impressed when I found out that they were cruelty-free and mostly vegan, so they get an A+++. This lipstick is the very same one that Haley Atwell wore during her Agent Carter role. I love Agent Carter, she just so happens to be my favourite character in all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe because of her sassy badassness, and I was, and still am, so gutted that they've cancelled the show. Not happy, Jan! Here's hoping someone puts me out of my misery over the cancellation sooner rather than later with this lippie, just so I can channel her every time I wear it.
I've always been intrigued by the Lime Crime Velvetines, but I kept forgetting about them because I got distracted by other beauty products. I have a massive thing for matte lippies, and this is no exception. However, I could probably find dupes for most of the colours. I want Pumpkin from this brand, though!
I recently got the Mary-Lou Manizer as a gift in a care package from my friend Cat, and I absolutely love it. I want to get the Cindy-Lou Manizer, because it combines both a peachy-pink blush with a highlight that's perfect for a fresh-faced pin-up look. Alternatively, I would also love to get the Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow Palette, as it has the perfect collection of matte shades that I like and use, and this can be taken along with me as I go travelling to combine the use of highlight and blush in one go. This is not a must-have, as I have other products that do a similar job.
I'd always thought that I could get away with a dupe from Kmart or other brands, but none them have really met expectations. Either some were too firm and didn't blend easily, or some didn't expand enough when dampened, and a lot of them stained really easily and took on a lot of product, resulting in wastage. I've tested the true blenders at Sephora as well as watched some videos of it in action, and I can easily see how well they perform. I prefer the use of a blender sponge rather than a buffing brush for a more even and sheer coverage, and it makes applications much much quicker.
I really like the classic black and silver handles of the Prime Set. The Vegan Prime Set is a set that I would pass onto my children when they are old enough purely because the brushes are of a high quality, the design is classy and timeless, and the variety of brushes is just right for a complete set. I can picture my future daughter being truly honoured to receive this on their 16th birthday. I came across a brush set by Morphe that had 9 brushes instead of 10 and was much cheaper, with a very similar classic design of silver ferrules and black handles, but two of the brushes were not what I wanted nor needed in the set.
I've always wanted to buy a lipstick from Jeffree Star, as a way to show my support for the LGBTi community. I absolutely love that the founder of the brand is a beautiful, creative and amazing man that has his makeup on point every. single. time. He also features and wears other brands on his Insta, which really says so much about him as a makeup addict, person and founder of a brilliant brand. I can think of no better person or company to support! In saying so, I really want the Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Gemini and Androgyny.
Obviously, I would have the Chocolate Bar in my wishlist. I may not be so fond of sweets, but I do like the occasional chocolate bar, and the packaging for this one is just too cute. I mean, just look at it! The pigmentation to these shadows are amazing and I absolutely love the colour selection. Actually, since my last wishlist I've been going back and forth from wanting it and not wanting it because I keep changing my mind. The colours are great, but are they unique to what I already have in my essence palettes, as well as my Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly? Not entirely. Could it be used on its own to create multiple looks while travelling or strapped for time? Yes. Is it worth the money? Probably. See what I mean? I'm very indecisive about this palette. One thing's for sure, though, I will not be buying this on a whim.
Here's hoping a certain someone sees this post and buys everything for me for my birthday and Christmas (ha ha haaaa). I wish.
