I finally had the opportunity to test this product out, and I'm glad I bought it. I was a bit skeptical of mascara primers in the first place, because the idea of priming eyelashes sounded ridiculous. It just felt like another product to unnecessarily put on your face. I mean, two coats of mascara and I'm good to go, so why the heck did lashes need priming?
That is, until I saw the results for myself.
Mascara primers, in short, are designed to create more surface area for your lashes, and provide longer lasting results with mascara. It helps to separate lashes and elongate them slightly, making your peepers look bigger than they already are.
This primer comes in a plastic tube, though I would prefer a much longer tube so that it contained more product. For $3.35, it's not the end of the world, so I'm not too fussed. The wand is basic, and does the job just fine. The product itself is white, and when applied, remains while until you put the mascara on top. I don't recommend using this with clear mascara though, because I doubt it would remove/hide the white pigmentation.
As you can see, the primer makes the lashes look slightly longer, evenly coated with mascara right up to the very tip, and it doesn't let the mascara clump the lashes together. It prevented flaking of mascara fibers and also kept said fibers in line with the lashes, rather than sticking out at odd angles at the tips.
